September was Suicide Awareness Month, and to honor Tyrel Koenes and all the souls we miss from the tragedy of suicide, The Nightingale Group officially launched.
We kicked off our Founding Partners Campaign in September. We not only want to see a dramatic decrease in annual suicides in the United States, but we want to change the story that shame, isolation, and fear can write in our minds. Our goal is to give young people a better mental and emotional foundation before they embark into adulthood.
If we can reach students before the false narratives of their unworthiness or unlovability take root, we have won. If we can support caregivers and educators to be compassionate guides along their students’ journeys, we have won. And if we can build a resource hub of trauma-informed, relationship-oriented materials and practitioners to educate and empower our communities, we have won.
Our mission is to create healthy ways of relating that can be learned, lived, and strengthened. In short, we’re here to change the culture. We want emotional literacy (regulation, communication, competency, confidence) to be the new normal. We want relational maturity to be desirable. We want kindness, love, and decency to thread our communities together.
And we want YOU to join us!
We are looking for donors, partners, volunteers, and supporters. Come learn, grow, and create change with us!
